Abstract

Organic-inorganic hybrid clusters have emerged as a promising class of optoelectronic materials owing to their remarkable structural diversity, highly tunable optical characteristics and exceptional luminescence properties. In particular, low dimensional copper(I) clusters are promising for ionization radiation detection due to their high photoluminescence quantum yield and radiation attenuation coefficient. Here, two strong luminescent clusters were synthesized by self-assembly at room temperature in the same substrate material, and flexible transparent scintillator films were obtained through crystallization on a polymethyl methacrylate substrate. The obtained thin film exhibits a high transmittance of 90% in the range of 400-800 nm, which is very promising in X-ray imaging and radiation detection. These findings highlight the remarkable potential of cluster-based composite films in ionizing radiation detection, paving the way for innovative applications of Cu(I) cluster materials in radiation detection.
