Abstract

This backstory is based on an interview with Prof. Pengxin Liu by a student group from ShanghaiTech residential college. The original intention of the interview was to introduce the other identity of Prof. Liu, as a science influencer on social media with over 1.6 M followers, to the undergraduates. Here in this backstory, we share our conversation on the motivation, skill, and outcome for engaging in public science education. The interdisciplinary nature of public communication is highlighted.
