Abstract

Van der Waals heterostructure materials provide a versatile platform for tuning electronic properties by stacking different two-dimensional layers. Among them, 4Hb-TaS2is a naturally occurring van der Waals heterostructure composed of alternating layers of 1T-TaS2and 1H-TaS2. In this review, we comprehensively discuss the emergence of multicomponent superconductivity, time-reversal symmetry breaking, the Kondo effect, and the magnetic memory effect in this system, highlighting how these phenomena arise due to the coexistence of the two distinct structural phases. We particularly emphasize the interplay between these effects, offering new insights into their coexistence and mutual interactions. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of correlated electron systems and drive future advancements in quantum materials.
